How has Exscribe’s EHR affected your practice?
Exscribe’s EHR has been a definite positive for my practice and my patients. I’m saving at least $1,000 per month on transcription costs. Workflow is better because the minute I’m done with a note, authorizations are in progress. I now have more time for patient interaction because I don’t have to spend time transcribing notes at the end of clinic.
My advice is to create templates for your practice. I made a template for every body part or type of injury that I typically see. For example, I have templates for ACL tears, meniscus tears, rotator cuff tears, etc. The templates are designed to flow quickly so I can focus on the patient.
What has been the most helpful feature or outcome?
Not having to transcribe has been my favorite feature. Notes are done immediately. Prior to implementing Exscribe’s EHR, I had to dictate transcriptions, and then take time to re-read them later. When I walk out of the patient’s room, the front desk has all of the information they need. Everything’s done and being ordered. Exscribe’s EHRs create an ease of patient interaction because all of the paperwork is taken care of with just a few clicks.
Why in the selection process did you pick Exscribe? What singled out Exscribe over competitors?
Exscribe’s EHR is structured specifically for orthopedic surgeons. It therefore works better with the orthopedic office workflow than one made for OBs or general surgeons.
How did implementation go?
It went very smoothly. We had no problems with implementation.
